FogMonkey is a small, independent place to buy and manage domain names — with prices you can see, renewals that won't surprise you, and none of the dark patterns the big registrars are known for.
Why we exist
Buying a domain should take two minutes and leave you feeling like nobody tried to trick you. Instead, the big registrars bury the renewal price, pre-load your cart with add-ons you never asked for, and make you click past upsells just to check out.
And they leave your name, address, and phone sitting in the public WHOIS record by default — then charge you a yearly fee to take them back out.
We got tired of it, so we built the opposite. FogMonkey does one thing: register the domain you want, at a price you can actually see, with your details kept private from the start — and renew it at a rate that won't catch you off guard. That's the whole pitch.
Who's behind it
FogMonkey is operated by BDLOGIC LLC, a Texas limited liability company. We're a domain reseller — your domains are registered through SRSplus, the ICANN-accredited registrar platform run by Network Solutions, a Web.com company — so the names you buy sit on established, accredited infrastructure, while the storefront, the pricing, and the support are ours.
What you can count on
- Private from the start. Your name, address, phone, and email stay off the public WHOIS record — included on every domain that supports it, at no extra charge, nothing to switch on. A few registries (like .io) don't allow it; we say which, up front. Want to be listed? Turn it off anytime.
- Prices you can actually see. The price at checkout is the price. No invented "was" prices, nothing switched on by default.
- Honest renewals. We tell you what renewal costs before you commit, and we won't quietly hike it later. Where a launch price is an intro rate, we say so plainly, right where you buy.
- No junk in your cart. You buy a domain. That's it — no hosting, SSL, or "protection" upsells creeping into your total. The one thing we include, privacy, we include at no extra charge and never bill as an add-on.
- Your card stays yours. Payments run through Stripe; full card details never touch our servers.
- The WHOIS bit, explained. ICANN requires real contact details for every domain, and you'll verify your email once. On our registrar those details would normally show up in the public record — so we put a privacy proxy in front of them by default. Your real info reaches the registry as required; the public just sees ours.
- If a name won't register, you don't pay for it. If a domain can't be secured after checkout, we release the hold automatically — you're never left paying for a name you didn't get.
